Best Products: TOFTBO Bathmat from IKEA

9-23-toftborug.jpgWe have a few requirements when it comes to bathmats - they must absorb water well, dry quickly, be machine washable, and not cause us to slip on our tile floors. The TOFTBO from IKEA does all of these, while holding up well and being cheap to boot.

9-23-toftbo.jpgWe've had our current one for over two years, and while it's been washed dozens of times the color is still strong and it fluffs up perfectly every time.

• TOFTBO bathmat, available in a wide variety of colors for $9.99 each from IKEA.

This bath mat is TOO BIG for my tiny NYC bathroom - so I cut it carefully in two. Now I have two bathmats that are much easier to keep clean.

I was sick of area rugs slipping on my tile floor, so I whip-stitched two of these together and made a big, easy to clean area rug! It looks awesome and took hardly any time at all.

Lands End has the best bathmats - in a wide variety of colors, styles and sizes...
...no going to IKEA, no wading through the crowds, and if the color or size is wrong, returns and re-shipping are free.

I had an orange one for almost 2 years. We ditched it in favour of a bathmat towel. I like the towel better as I don't like leaving the rug on the floor after I get out of the shower.

Miss Upsetter - I think that's the best idea I've heard in a long time. Brilliant! [starts to feverishly peruse IKEA website for bathmats]

i didnt like the bathmat from ikea (i had the same one) it seemed to hold dust bunnies really easily and this made it look dirty all the time. also it got matted down really quickly. Sorry, but i think this is the first time i have ever disagreed with you.

Miss Upsetter - Was just thinking of doing what you did but figured it'd probably look a bit silly. You've given me a boost.

I have one of the rugs in light blue. I love it but my cat loves it too so I moved it into my walk-in closet, which for some reason has a linoleum floor. *shudder*

quiltmaster: Yes, the mat is rubber backed

mflick: It does get dirty, but no faster than any other bathmat I've ever had, I actually have two so when the first gets dirty I can switch it out in between trips to the laundromat.

dzignkrazy & trixxie: The shower curtain is actually from Target, we wrote about it in this roundup

Lizzykewl: this particular tile is original and most of the finish has worn off, making it difficult to clean, but in general I've always found small hex tile perfectly fine to clean (and yeah, it's my favorite)

thanks everyone
