Escapes: Details, Details

It's often the little things that leave the biggest impressions. Hotels can easily win us over by doing something so clever and cool, that it instantly sets them apart from the competition.

In our travels, we've come across places that were especially memorable for their non-standard amenities. Like a rooftop pool overlooking the city. Or something as simple as a martini glass filled with delicious Parisian macarons. (We love our sweets!)

The W Maldives allows guests to pick their own fruit or catch their own fish, then the resort takes care of the preparations. And we've heard that the Htel Plaza Athne Paris turns its courtyard into an ice-skating rink during colder months.

So we're wondering: What's the coolest amenity you've enjoyed during a hotel stay? Any ideas that you could even incorporate into your own home?
