Escapes: Prague's Monastery Garden Hotel

It's the mix of old and new in these spaces that's really catching our attention. The Monastery Garden Hotel in Prague, Czech Republic is actually located in an old monastery. The vaulted ceilings and heavy timber construction hint at that...

Appointments like all-tile bathrooms and stylish bedding tell us this is, however, no longer a monastery but a hotel. We're kind of digging that glass-enclosed armoire in the first pic - yet another mix of old and new. We're imagining that it's a dressing area between the suite and the bathroom. One more thing we like is that they have some pretty competitive special rates - this doesn't appear to be an uber-luxurious hotel but an affordable, well-designed escape within reach. For more, see the hotel's website.

I was puzzled by the armoire in the glass, too - is it in a bathroom? I'm crazy for the room with the wood ceiling!
