UXUA Casa Hotel
Brazil

UXUA Casa Hotel is located in a small village of Trancoso on the northeastern side of the Brazilian coast. It is surrounded by tropical forests and it has some amazing white sand beaches. Wilbert Das, the creative director for the Italian clothing brand Diesel, bought the property in 2006. Over the past two years he has transformed the hillside into an amazing retreat. He collaborated with Bahian craftsmen and built the casas, a spa, and a beach lounge. The project was completed in March 2009 with stunning results. More photos after the jump...

The hotel overlooks the ocean and is the center of the village life. It consists of 9 casas: historic one, two, and three-bedrooms, a treehouse built from recycled wood, poolside studios, and a couple fisherman-style bungalows. Each and everyone of them in unique in its design. The property is beautifully landscaped and some of the houses include private gardens, plunge pools, and Jacuzzi. The hotel guests can choose between a 5-star service or self-catering, since each casa has a kitchen or kitchenette. We would love to make UXUA Casa Hotel (it means "marvelous" in the language of Pataxó Indians) our next vacation spot.

That swimming pool has me mesmerized... I'm wondering whether it is lined with the stone-in-resin flooring, or whether they are real stones... gorgeous!
