Bradbury & Bradbury Art Wallpapers

Bradbury & Bradbury Art Wallpapers is a wallpaper company located in Benicia, here in the Bay Area. Many of their wallpapers are handprinted, using the silk screen printing method. Their products are inspired by historic patterns from 1880s through 1960s. Constant research proved to be the key element for their wallpaper collection. Taking inspiration from victorian art, old wallpaper samples, books, and private homes, they expanded their portfolio to include Victorian, Arts & Crafts, Modernism, and Damasks.

As much as we appreciate the very detailed and complex Victorian line, we really enjoy some of their more fun wallpapers - like the Atomic Age: 1950s collection. No matter what is your style you will find something different that will go with your home decor.

If you are curious about the production process of handprinted wallpapers check out the studio page on their website. It is great to learn how much effort it takes to silk screen wallpaper especially when it is comprised of more than just one color.

Very nice patterns.

Why not print them digitally? What advantage does silk screen have over digital?

The screen printing process can add depth and texture that is not achievable by simply printing out the image digitally. The layering of inks can create amazingly beautiful effects. The use of metallic inks can also create an amazing look.
Unfortunately you would have to see the difference with the naked eye as it cannot be captured by viewing it on the computer screen.
For example Andy Warhol's prints much more impressive in person than viewed in a book or online. The process was even more complex in his time, and the magnitude of the prints are quite impressive.
If done well, screen printing is a truly wonderful art form as much as it is a skill.

Also, a fun fact B&B makes the wallpaper that is in the foyer of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion.
