It's always such a treat to see new work by Lena Corwin, who happens to be one of my old high school classmates (and a fellow San Francisco native). She has the most amazing eye for pattern and color, and lately she's been doing a lot of exciting collaborations with other talented artists and designers. Case in point: This new limited edition hand-printed wallpaper, available from another local favorite, the Curiosity Shoppe. Click through for a close-up peek at the pattern...

Lena designed this pattern for the inside cover of Wallpaper Projects, a book by Curiosity Shoppe owners Derek Fagerstrom and Lauren Smith. They loved the print so much that they asked Lena to produce it on a larger scale for sale in their shop. We love that the pattern is delicate and subtle without feeling overly feminine. And of course because it's limited edition, you won't spot it in every house tour that comes along.
Visit the Curiosity Shoppe for pricing and availability information. Also be sure to check out Lena's shop and her lovely blog for more of her inspiring work.

Oh what an awesome wallpaper! It's graphic but subtle. Perfect, really. And the color is very relaxing.

I was looking at paper doilies the other day and this wallpaper pattern reminds me of those (in a good way). I also love the way the low handle on the mug looks...has anyone tried this? Does it feel weird?

The mug is a Studio Mug from Heath Ceramics, designed in the late 40s. It is wonderful to drink out of and the handle works perfectly, although it may not work as well for people with bigger hands.
I serve coffee and tea at parties with these mugs and everyone loves them. Someone actually stole one from one of our parties!
