Marimekko Unveils Wallpaper Collection At Last

For Marimekko fans, framing giant swathes of fabric has in the past been the only way to display the company's iconic patterns on the walls. Now by popular demand, Marimekko has introduced a collection of wallpapers, including some of their classic prints along with exciting new designs...

The wallpaper collection is surprisingly versatile; there are bold, colorful prints along with subtler, gray-on-white designs and even soft metallics. We love the dreamy Lumimarja (second photo above), a shimmering berry-and-branches pattern that would be beautiful in a bedroom or bathroom. And of course the Unikko print (fourth photo), Marimekko's signature bold floral, is always a favorite. Unikko wallpaper comes in several colorways: gray and taupe, black and white, or a summery red and fuchsia.

Marimekko wallpaper is available in the US from Always Mod for $89 per roll.

Amazing! The main image is my favorite, but they're all gorgeous.

Very nice designs. I don't really appreciate wallpaper, but these might be considered as an option for decoration in my house.

I saw the cars the other day, and posted it on facebook. I'm having a baby, and thought this would be perfect for a little boys room!

My baby blanket "bus blankie" was in that transit themed print. Be warned, your children might grow up to work in urban policy if you surround them with such imagery.

Love! I think they would also look great lining the back of a bookcase (like the Billy from Ikea) for some interest.

These are cool, but wallpaper: UGH. Just removed wallpaper from 4 rooms, and I am not interested. However, I would consider wallpapering the inside of a cabinet, or bookcase.

I think they are all wonderful.....but I love picture 2 with the white/gray. I'm going to check the price. Who bets it is WAY out of my budget? However, this would actually be worth a splurge.

OK...saw the price above. I wonder how much I could do with just one roll. LOL!

Bailey - if the price is a double roll it's about average price. Good designer wallpaper is expensive these days. I think the last doule rools I bought (3 years ago) were in the neighborhood of $70 a roll. Needless to say I only did a small area.

This was my wallpaper when I was a baby!!!! I'll never forgot how colorful it was! No wonder I'm such a color freak! One of the first images of life I can remember :)

Fun patterns! There is also a great "green" wallpaper line by WALLTAT that has both temporary and permanent install options. I hated removing the wallpaper in my place, UG! Gotta love wallpaper... without the paste!
