When I was renting a place in DC I got a pack of 5x5 origami paper from one of the now-defunct stores in (now-defunct) Chinatown and used double sided tape to make a color block grid on the wall of my dining room, spacing the squares about three inches apart. Total cost
Scrapbooking card stock can be used similarly, for a larger scale design, and double sided tape generally comes off paint with any sort of gloss pretty easily.

not a fan of the website. seriously, sound effects for their samples? i thought my computer was dying before i realized what it was.

i second the double-stick tape. wouldn't do it for a whole wall, but little areas would be fine. paper stores have cool sheets large sheets (average $5 a sheet), or rolls with cool patterns.

I have used wallpops on the kitchen cabinets in 2 apartments. They came off with no trouble after being on the cabinets for over a year. Its a great way to add a little pop to an all white kitchen.

I'm getting only a lime green background with no content for their website. IE and Firefox. Hmm...

I had these in my sophomore college apartment. They were on a painted sheetrock wall for a year, came off with NO damage, and are now being reused on the fridge of my newlywed apartment. I cannot say how awesome they are for people who can't paint and want something cool on their walls. I'll post photos later, but seriously, try them.

Nice idea if you're desperate to personalise, but don't they make the paint fade unevenly? i.e. when you remove the decals, aren't there darker spots where they were placed?
