For the first time in five years, House Beautiful recently released the Next Wave, its list of twenty interior designers to watch. Some of the young designers that have graced the once annual list include Nate Berkus, Ruthie Sommers and Laura Kirar. This year's list includes San Francisco's own Melanie Coddington of Coddington Design.

In 2000, Melanie abandoned her corporate career to study design at Berkeley before opening her own company in 2004. Two short months later, Melanie was asked to design a space in the San Francisco Decorator Showcase. She also participated in 2006 and 2008. Hallmarks of Melanie's design include '"strong silhouettes, sophisticated use of color, and quality workmanship."

To find out more about Melanie Coddington, check out this month's issue of House Beautiful or go online to read a small interview.
Congratulations Melanie! We can't wait to see more from you in years to come!

this is very exciting. She is an extremely talented designer and her and her team really embrace the use of color so well. In a sea of way too contemporary and way too traditional, designers like Melanie Coddington really know how to branch the two together with style.
Every room is beautiful. Pink lighting---sigh. People have been known to fall in love underneath pink lights, so be careful who you invite to dinner.
