Name: Shannon
Location: Brentwood — Los Angeles, California
My husband and I fell in love with the bright green door to our condo 6 years ago and immediately knew it was the home for us. It was an incredibly unique building in the incredibly traditional Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. As a stylist and interior designer, I am constantly using our home as my "canvas"; always experimenting with different looks, be it new wallpaper, art, furniture, color or fabric.
My husband is a comedian/comedy writer so — in addition to looking great — the use of colorful and playful items in the home reflects his "colorful" personality. My constant experimentation fuels my creativity, but can frustrate my husband. Every time I change something I promise him it will be last time — knowing full well it won't be! I've been fortunate enough to be able to revolve each room around a fantastic piece of art "on loan" from my husband's parents. The exciting challenge is to make the family heirlooms/art be the focal point, and to create a contemporary and fresh environment around them. The bedroom art was certainly the biggest challenge, but I was elated with the sophisticated design that evolved around such an abstract piece of art.
Thanks Shannon!

Love the painted? dipped? blue and white cushions on the bed - agree that the absence of a link and a bit more info is cruel! more!
OK, I'll be the annoying "this is not my style but it's great" comment. I'd like to see more.

Fantastic home. Where's the throw on the back of the sofa from?
I want a House Tour, too!!!! This house feels so open and fun.
Oh could so picture a comedian living in this space! Very nice mixture of tastes.
Such personality! I love everything about it! Also, I've been searching for the perfect gray for my bedroom, and I think you found it and put it on the wall that the sunburst mirror's hanging from. ;) What paint color is that??
Love it! House tour, plz!
Shannon, what kind of floor is that? laminate?
Would also love to know more about the sliding doors.

Great call on that wall-sized curtain. It's so hard to dress a mid-wall window like that.
Fantastic style, I'm going to echo the previous commentors and ask for a House Tour!
Also where is that fabulous console table in the 4th pic from? I covet it!!

Ooh, you have my rug! The gray-blue one from West Elm--It is beautiful in your space. Where did you get the bench/ikat fabric at the end of the bed?
Love, love, love the Copper/Brass (?) Sunburst next to the silver table and chairs. But I wouldn't have anything on the table beneath it; let it be the "Star" of that space!
The things under the table could stay. Love that huge silver vase!
Gorgeous!
Love it! Great use of punches of color, and of course the green door is reason alone to move in. But how about toning down the Jonathan Adler a little?
