Social Networking sites are taking over the world. Not really, but it's getting scarily close when appliances start showing up with social networking qualities built in.

The Share//Trash Can by Burak Kaynak seems to be a bit over kill if you ask us. We do know that there are those Over Share badge holders on FourSquare, people with 5,000 followers on Twitter and those that mutter "default pic" when snapping photos out there that will think this was made for them.
Based on the 'Share' buttons that many websites offer up to help spread the word of their content, Kaynak installed an LED live-counter that tracks each time the Share pedal is stepped on, allowing you to throw your trash away.
Would you be interested in purchasing the Share//Trash Can?

Is the concept behind this that anything you'd "Share" on a social networking site by its very definition trash?
You know what loudlyquiet - I never even thought of that while I was writing the post. You're probably right!
it seems like maybe the concept is to shame people in trashing less, and recycling/composting more. but shame never works, people find ways around it. now, if my composter could tweet, that would be awesome.
