Name: Sherri
Location: Adams Morgan — Washington, D.C.
I think my home would be a great for Apartment Therapy because it really represents who I am. I have heard many times, "It's so you!" My apartment is not the biggest and I have rearranged the living room many times to get the most bang for my buck.
My style is eccentrically mine and my inspiration is whatever makes me feel good. During undergrad, I pursued an Interior Decorating degree (just to switch it at the end to education) and I worked for two design firms. I have helped many friends decorate their homes by helping them find their style. So, with that experience I have found my own style and incorporated all that I have learned into my home. I share it with my two feline friends and I want them to feel at home too. My home makes me happy and I enjoy all the wonderful things that live inside it.
Thanks Sherri!

Pretty couches and coffee table
Very cute! I find it a bit cluttered but a strong sense of style is definitely apparent.
I like, especially your entranceway and bathroom. Everything is well thought out and has its place. Where did you find your Klimt-esque painting?
I love the little touches of color here and there!
Where's the litter box?
I love your style! I assume that you are someone who likes adventures, but won't let things get out of hand. At least that's what I'm getting from looking at your apartment. =) I like it!
Very nice! I love the pops of color and eclectic style! (And I always love to see what other people in DC are up to in their apartments! :-))
When exactly did she ask how to make it look less "cluttered"?
I like your space and glad to see you consider your lovely kitties when creating.
Well done, thanks for sharing.
The kitty litter pan is in the bathroom inside the cabinet . I took the doors off it and put up the curtains. Now they can go easily in and out and no one can see it.
Thanks everyone!
I liked that blue color on that stool there, and the pictures on that wall- v interesting.
How large is this space?
really like the bathroom!
How do you like those sofas? I thought about getting the same ones/color during the last Macys sale!
The Klimt is a reproduction of his work and you will never guess where I got it... Ikea.
Love the couches. Had them for about a year and they are wonderful with cat hair, it comes off so easy.
526 sq. ft.
I really like the little table lamp in the bathroom. Almost an unexpected little touch in that room and it really softens the place.
Love the turquoise bench!:)
What a GREAT, happy place. To me it represents a fun, warm personality of someone you would like to know or have as a friend. I really see where you're coming from with each arrangement. (I hate bare walls) Hammer & nails are my best friends. So is spackle & paint. I like change also and not a "fraidy cat." "It is clean, airy, cheerful and I've been looking a long time for those candle sconces above the fireplace. Where can I get them? Happy days, thanks for sharing! Jake
Thanks!! I got them at ikea about 5 years ago. Sorry... I checked the website and there aren't anymore.
Very nice and fun...very you :)
I like it!!!! The sofas are really nice *envious* and I like the iron bed we get a peek at through the great french doors. I also really like the curtain beneath the bathroom sink and the presence of house plants throughout. Looks like an inviting place!!!
anyone know where the dining set is from?
Just lovely ,Iike it all! I have a couple of turquoise pieces that are always commented on too .
Hi Sherri,
I really love your style. I know this might sound strange but have you considered helping people out with their apartments? I'm desperately looking for help setting up my wonderful studio, and kind of have no clue where to start/can't really decide what I want. Would you be interested in helping a girl out?
the dining set is from ikea...of course and I reupholstered the cushions (used to be red)
Jake- I would love to be your friend too!
decornovice-sure I would love to help ya out! hit me up... set2sit@gmail.com.
Really like the way you set up the place and the colors.
I'm looking to permanently move down to DC during the coming year and was wondering if you were willing to give me an idea about how much an apartment your size runs in the AM area?
Thank you Syri.
I paid $1750 for this place. I moved recently to a smaller place to save some $$. It will be up for rent at the end of the month. Let me know if you are interested. :)
