I love this Scandinavian living room from Anna-Malin's blog over at Skona Hem. It has a great blend of hard and soft surfaces, lovely contrast between stark black and white, and lots of natural materials. Renters can easily recreate this room with plain white walls, and using a mixture of high- and low-priced items. Let's give it a whirl:

Shaw's Original Fir...
love this look. wish i could use white linens on my bed, but having a black cat makes that a bit difficult to keep looking crisp.
great look
Reminds me of this: http://zenmindmaterialworld.wordpress.com/2012/03/20/bedroom/
Like the look, but unfortunately, it's ruined as soon as personal items that don't match are added, you take your hoodie off and lay it down, put your NOT black, white, or grey bag somewhere, books and magazines, etc... It just looks good when it's pristine and perfect. God forbid my dog has the wrong color fur...
I have 6 cats and I find that vinyl works best with a house full of pets. Just wipe with a damp cloth.
@pamplemus (First off, j'aime the username.) This style actually looks great when color and life are added. Sure, it looks beautiful staged, but it also looks killer with a colorful tapestry hung on the wall, kids artwork framed and leaned on top of a bench/bookcase, a colorful buffalo plaid blanket, etc. It just adds another dimension - I love this look because of how versatile it is! Thanks to AT for featuring the basics.
That chaise is killer! I need one in my apartment ASAP- definitely NOT in white though.
Lol @ Pamplemus. I see where you coming from. Although its nice but I think it be kinda gloomy to live in a place like this. There's nothing like walking into a welcoming colorful place in the afternoon or waking up to brightly vibrant colors.
