Welcome again to Adrienne, trying out for a spot on the team representing Austin, Texas. As always let us know what you think in the comments!
Finally, room service that won't leave you with a huge bill at the end of your trip. (And you don't have to worry about tipping your bellhop, either.) Room Service Vintage
store, located in the always hip North Loop area of Austin, supplies Austinites with funky, cool and vintage furnishings. While a trip to the store may seem like you have been lost in time, the best thing about this store is that it is always changing.
They have a huge inventory of 50s, 60s and 70s furnishings they rotate and arrange often. Along with the usual assortment of sofas, chairs, tables and desks, Room Service also has a great selection of lamps, chandeliers, pillows, fabrics and accessories (ranging from statuettes to typewriters). Nothing makes for a "cool" interior like a comprehensive selection of records, and Room Service has plenty. They also sport what may be the best-looking record listening booth that I've ever seen. Room Service also boasts an impressive array of vintage dinnerware. The showroom, though thoughtfully arranged, is quite packed, so you will most likely have to do several laps around the store to take everything in (and I would advise leaving the bulky bags at home.) Most items here are in good shape, but keep in mind this is a vintage store, so inspect everything you want before you purchase, as things are sold as is. Even if you prefer to buy new, Room Service is definitely the place to go for inspiration and ideas.
