Established for more than 10 year in the Marais, Serge Bensimon has always been a pioneer.
HOME Autour du Monde is his concept store. It answers all needs and desires : clothes, designer funiture, objects, textiles or tablewear sit together harmoniously.
The place is spacious and bright. It is open and simple with large waxed stone slabs. The walls are a mix of white and coloured panels which are changing every season. The shelves are made of thick pure white polypropylene as this material really catches the light.
Spread on two floors, the idea is to mix Charles Eames furniture and drift wood, "Gustaviennes" lighting with pop objects or flower prints.
HOME Autour du monde is the concept of life.
Fashion designer Serge Bensimon opened his first concept home furnishings store — Home Autour du Monde — in 1989. While the flagship store is in the Marais in Paris, there are three additional Bensimon locations (of over 20) in Paris and Belgium that carry the colorful and modern home furnishings seen here.
The store features a large assortment of the Bensimon fashion line and is accompanied by an assortment of products from popular European housewares brands like Muuto, Hay, SCP and Normann Copenhagen mixed in with Eames classics and a few pieces from Areaware (and many more).
While I was there last week, there was a lot of end-of-season sales (soldes!) and the curated collection on the main level was "Moody Blues".
