I.D.

I.D.
houses eyeglasses and modern home goods
all in one place. This emphasis on the visual and functional

makes perfect sense for a place called I.D., focusing on the ways we see (and what we use to see). The shop is modest in size with selectively displayed pieces placed sparingly so you can really look, see details, and take them all in.

The modern gallery setting pays homage to hand-selected European and American design. I.D. showcases original glass works by Karim Rashid, Improved Crockery by Esther Derkx, lighting (like the hanging lamps pictured here) by Tord Boontje, and original wall coverings by Tracy Kendall.

As for furniture, I.D. has exclusive agreements with timeless furniture designs by Artifort and Spectrum of The Netherlands. Participating in a new quick-ship program offered by Gus* Design of Canada, one can choose from sofas (we like this "Lexington" design), sectionals, lighting, and accessories.

Prices? Here's a sampling. Those gorgeous Tord Boontje garland lamps run $75. The Lexington sofa: $2,000. Ratzer wool blankets: $450 (check out those colors!)
