Kiersten Hathcock spends a lot of time in her garage. It's homebase and HQ for Mod Mom Furniture where she designs distinctively modern storage pieces for family homes. And after she designs them she builds them with her own two hands. Who knows, perhaps she's building your next family heirloom.

Although Mod Mom Furniture pieces are perfect for a child's room or playroom, they won't feel at all out of place elsewhere in your home. And because she makes each piece after you order it, you are able to customize many of them to best fit your home. There are currently six designs in the collection, each named for a child she knows (or birthed!):

Maude is the newest addition and boasts a book cubby on one end. It comes with a blue or green bird or Kiersten will match any color to a paint swatch for a very small fee.

Riley Paige is truly a custom piece as each customer can choose the paper that is decoupaged onto the flower cut outs.

Bertie was one of Kiersten's early designs and its popularity has kept it in production.

Owyn is particularly suited to be a beautiful storage piece in your hallway, living room or even your own bedroom.

Gracie has a mid-century aesthetic, but could also work well if your style leans more traditional than modern.

Noah is the quintessential woodland piece and is on casters (an option on several of her pieces) which makes for easy vacuuming.

Mod Mom Furniture ranges from $299 - $495 and each piece is crafted in Kiersten's garage against the backdrop of twangy country music. She sells directly through her Etsy shop, Mod Mom Furniture, as well as through many online retailers in the U.S. and even one in Canada.
