ReStore: Seattle's Local Salvage Shop

Store Profile

Located right over the bridge in Ballard, ReStore is a DIY home improvement doer's dream come true. You can find just about anything in this salvage warehouse from used tiles, hinges, and door knobs to pinball machines, high school lockers and church confessionals.

ReStore is a non-profit organization that's been serving Western Washington since 1993. Their mission is to offer unique, quality alternatives to new products and keep them out of the landfills. They keep their prices low (about half the price you would find the materials new) and offer a two week return policy on anything in the store.

They are also big on education and giving back to the community. They give frequent skill building workshops, and all proceeds go towards environmental education. Most of their inventory comes from donations and salvages. They also offer free previews and bids on salvaging disposal and removal projects.

With their selection of used building materials, appliances and unique inventory you can spend hours getting lost in this store. But beware this is a salvage warehouse, items are everywhere and as-is so you will have to know what you're looking for and be able to see the inherent possibilities all around. If you have a specific project your working towards or just got into a fixer-upper then ReStore may just be the place for you.
