Walker Shop

Store Profile

The Walker Art Center's commitment to kids is evident in its innovative curating and programming, so it makes perfect sense the the Walker Shop is an incredible resource for toys and kids decor. Minneapolis locals can visit the brick and mortar store nestled in one of the world's finest contemporary art museums and the rest of us can shop online.

Today's Walker Shop is a descendant of the Everyday Art Gallery opened by the Walker in 1946. Anticipating the "good design" movement of the 1950s, the Gallery featured changing exhibitions highlighting the best of modern living, introducing legions of visitors to future classics such as Eames seating and Scandinavian ceramics. For today's shopper seeking good design for kids, the Walker Shop offers a beautiful selection of books, toys and art supplies.

The website has a kids section with apparel, books and toys categories, but parents should look beyond the kids page for a beautiful array of mobiles and exhibition posters that would be perfectly at home in a child's room. They ship worldwide.
