We really like the Yglesias Woodwork furniture that we saw at CaBoom last week. The pieces are beautifully made and we dig the take on (sorry, folks, but here it comes) Mid-century design". These Mod-end Tables with their walnut veneer and sleek colored trim are a delight.
This upholstered Chair ($1800) is built with the most stunning wood we've seen. (The chair is a Design collaboration with Vioski-who we love.)
But for us, it was the insane, Jeff Koons-esque plastic-looking pieces with their bright, shiny colors that had us smiling the hardest because they are... wood. We love the super subtle ironic twist that allows this "Fancy Table" to have its own inside joke, if you will. It's pretty any way you look at it but the fact that it's made to glisten like plastic? Priceless.
Yglesias Woodwork also offers fabrication services "to help designers streamline the production of their products".
