Make a statement in your space with a bold rug! I love mixing neutrals with vibrant colors that demand attention. I generally keep the larger furniture pieces neutral and let the smaller accessories, rugs, and drapery set the color scheme and tone for the space.

i recently (within the last year) bought this rug from kmart... kmart doesn't sell it anymore though, i found this through a google search:
http://www.domesticmodern.com/orange-outdoor-rug-with-coral-print.aspx
it's bright, but not too bright, and has a fun pattern that's not very common! i love it!
Love these bright rugs, but they're all so tiny! Anyone have sources for big bright rugs? The CB2 and Anthro rugs don't seem to come in multiple sizes.

I'm in the same boat. West Elm has ones as big at 9x12. The Madeline Weinrib ones come huge, but are quite expensive in larger sizes. I've been combing through overstock.com, Home Decorators, and Rugs USA, although you do have to sort through a lot of hideous stuff.
I would love to see more posts on buying rugs. They are so expensive and I am very confused about what makes some so much more expensive than others.
A good place to look for rugs is at Target. I bought a 6x10 foot rug that somebody had returned for $49. It was regulary $300. I have pets so I'm not going to spend a ton of money on something that they'll mess up.
Wow, I love the saturated blue and green Anthropologie rug!
IKEA has a good selection of rugs.
Also, you might want to look at wovenground.com, a UK rug company I linked to through the better living through design website. Wovenground has some gorgeous rugs, and reasonable prices. They told me they would ship to the US, as well!
home decorators collection, chiasso, the company store, grandin road and overstock have pretty decent selections as well. they key is to just be patient, as searches turn up hideous rugs, but there are diamonds in the rough!
I'm with you. I like to have accessories make the color statement. It's also an easy way to redecorate.
