I like these. Most Americans only know about the Luxo, designed in 1937 by Jacob Jacobsen, after he purchased the production rights to the Anglepoise. This was the precursor, designed in 1932 by British designer George Carwardine.

Reissued in 2007 to celebrate its 75th Anniversary, this is the Original Anglepoise design from 1932, but wired for use in America, and with an energy saving lightbulb.
