Beats by Dre Pro Headphones

Boy, have headphones changed in the past few years. Top of the line headphones by Beats, the pro version is sturdily made of aluminum and steel, with excellent sound quality, non-electric noise canceling and no need to add a battery, which is very nice. Oh, and they're beautiful looking things. Consider this your holiday splurge.
Watch the price on these because they're doing price drops every few days or so.

For $400 you can find any number of real 'top of the line' headphones, these are not them. These are over-priced, bass-heavy, and only above average in sound quality. If you want mega-bass, these are your ticket. If you want something at actually sounds great, try Grado, Beyerdynamic, Etymotic Research, UE, AKG, etc. I would hope you guys would give better recommendations then just something with a flashy ad campaign.
So...I i like bass heavy music, would these be for me?
Try the AKG K550 ($299) or Sennheiser Momentum ($349). With Beats headphones you really are paying for the name, not the sound. With a little research, you can find significantly better headphones at the same price point or ones with similar quality for much cheaper. Track down a home stereo shop in your area and they will most likely be glad to help you pick out something.
I agree with acencsu willco007. Beats are OK, but there are better cool-looking headphones out there for the price. I did a major comparison shop for headphones last Christmas and came home with AKG. The Beats models I tried were very heavy on the bass (no complaints about that) but noticeably lacking in the other ranges.
No way on earth are these things worth $400. You can get better for $120, like Audio-Technica ATH-M50's. They aren't ridiculously bass-heavy either, although I think they're capable of deeper and certainly more accurate bass.
The Beats earbuds are even worse, if you can believe it. Avoid them like the plague.
everytime I see someone wearing those dre headphones, I know they've been the victim of clever marketing. or that they, in fact, have got too much money on their hands. you can get top of the line AKG headphones with much better sound for less!
Beats are so-so. I personally prefer Aiaiai TMA-1 headphones for their aesthetics, price, and sound quality. They can fit a bit loose on small heads though.
Look up Sony Mdr-v6. =]
