Kingstown Barstool
• from $890
• Studio Dunn
Visiting a friend's house out in Bridgehampton, I kept staring at their stools. So many kitchen counter and bar stools are too "bar-like" and not soft enough for a comfortable home. These are made in warm walnut, utilize amazing joinery and are soft edged from top to bottom. Made by Asher Dunn in Providence, Rhode Island, the Kingstown Stool comes in two basic heights and three wood options.

Why are most of Maxwell's Daily Find Maxwell's Daily EXPENSIVE Find?
Overpriced. Lovely though.
Because his clients CAN afford them. They are nice & I think I can see the expense here.
Think artisan made not mass produced. Price merely reflects that!
Agreed @chrisiec
I think the "daily find" is not just about the product but its story. The people and studio who made it.
Think heirloom, not disposable.
Humans have a developed habit of repurchasing things that need not be. Buy one great item to last lifetime of use and joy for generations to follow, as appose to one shitty item that you hate because it falls apart every year, but you repurchase because its inexpensive and serves its purpose.
I cant afford an $900 stool but I wont hesitate to pay extra for great quality, superior materials and well executed design.
Gorgeous. Sometimes the daily find is a bit pricey but this stool looks well worth the cost. It's delicate, strong and sculptural. Personally I think AT does a pretty good job of mixing high and low.
@BruinToo: You read my mind. I stopped looking at these ages ago because almost everything was way on the side of very expensive. Decided to click through today and lo and behold -- another beautiful yet extremely pricey thing that I will never buy.
