Kate Blakeslee is a rare find. I met her many years ago, and have always admired her artwork. A resident of the Bay Area with her husband and three kids, she's recently begun sharing her work more broadly via Etsy and her own website.

Her work is mainly done with rich pastels and this one, Orange Poppies, is beautiful for it's form as well as color. I recommend a visit.

From Kate: "Most of the new work is inspired from the natural landscape from where I live on the west side of Petaluma. My current obsessions include red poppies, cypress trees, cloudy landscapes and the rural open fields of Petaluma."
