Pop Up Sponges

This is for spring cleaning month! These old favorites, pop-up sponges, have drawn some criticism, but we think they are one of the nicest sponge choices you can make in the kitchen. They make us feel like we're home, wherever we are. Apparently Chuck Williams discovered these absorbent sponges while traveling in Europe years ago, and he brought them back to Williams-Sonoma where they became an instant customer favorite.

I'm pretty sure you can get these at Trader Joe's for much, much less. They are great, though!
I love mine, too, but I agree, the Trader Joe ones are like $6!
Yup, Trader Joes all the way.
Haven't I seen these in SF's Chinatown for about $1?
Yup, you can get them at Trader Joe's. 12 for $6.
The ones at Sur La Table are better and more durable than the ones from Trader Joe's. They are about $12 for 10.
Forgot about these! Used to be able to get those at Cost Plus (World Market for those less than 30 years old) and they lasted a great while.
These sponges are used for stone lithography printmaking. Obviously they can be used for general cleaning as well, but I buy mine from art supply stores!
make 'em scrubbers by throwing a plastic net produce bag over them... you know, the kind that lemons and garlic come in all the time.
