Despite the storm, it's the time of year I restock my candles for the indoor months and more darkness. While pillar candles are great for using all around the house (and not just on the dining table), they can tend to burn dirty and create a lot of black residue in your home if used frequently. Beeswax candles are not only long lasting, hypo-allergenic and have a light honey smell, they burn far cleaner in your home. They can be much more expensive too, but I found these on deep sale, so jump in while it lasts!

Yes! Thank you. Beeswax candles are the all-time best. And, going year-to-year, sometimes they can be impossible to find. It's a good idea, when you find them on sale (like this--thanks, Maxwell!) to buy as much as you can afford to, and then store (horde) them like pantry items. Airtight storage, away from heat & light, etc. They're worth it.
I never got behind the soy candle thing. There is an unpleasant, almost subliminal, undernote to their aroma, even the unscented ones, that tickles my gag reflex. It also reacts with & throws off any fragrance that is added to them. Just... unpleasant.
So yeah! Beeswax, all the way.
