We totally realize that these turntables fashioned out of various woods (mostly burl, with some oak, walnut and even plywood) is going to appeal to 99% of the A/V crowd out there, but we suspect the 1% who likes these like ourselves strongly drawn to the unique designs of Audiowood's founder, Joel Scilley.
As far as woodworking is concerned, I'm particularly interested in burlwood and other uncommon woods. You won't find much veneer here, nor will you see anything you've seen elsewhere. I'm building things that sound great, that work well, and that enhance musical experiences with their absolutely unique character.

Most Audiowood turntables are my designs, but I also enjoy working with clients who have their own visions. I build new plinths for vintage turntables and tables that use all-new parts. My all-new tables usually use the Origin Live DC motor controller and quality bearings. Most tables are designed with spacing for Origin Live/Rega arms, but custom tables can be fitted with any arm desired. In the near future I hope to be producing tables with my own platter design incorporating the excellent Teres bearing design.

Our favourite of the bunch is the model affectionately known as Barky, which comes equipped with a Rega RB251 arm, Premotec motor, and upgraded glass platter, all sitting ontop of a poly-sealed and paste waxed wood round piece. Punny and perfect for that woodland themed cabin decor you've always wanted.
