Bambooya founder Katie Gerdts Schroeder lived in Tokyo for seven years, where she grew bamboo in her small garden. She was impressed by the variety of bamboo-made products in Japan, and when she returned to the US and opened Bambooya, she made it her mission to sell textiles made from organic bamboo fabrics and yarns.

One of my go-to shower gifts is a set of bamboo baby blankets. They're naturally antibacterial and affordably priced, but the thing I like best about them is that they're super-soft. Online store Bambooya is a good resource for just these kinds of things. They specialize in clothes, blankets, and home accessories made from rapidly renewable bamboo.
