Boston Building Resources in Boston’s Roxbury Crossing neighborhood houses a consumer co-op and a reuse center that together provide high-value, affordable materials, both new and used, for home maintenance and improvements.
The co-op was founded in 1978 under the name Boston Building Materials Co-op. It provides new materials for home improvement with a special focus on kitchen cabinetry, windows, doors, energy-saving products, and green products. Anyone can join, and can also shop without joining.
The Reuse Center is a charitable nonprofit that accepts donations of new and gently used materials for resale. It opened its doors in 1993 and was known until recently as the Building Materials Resource Center. Anyone can shop at the Reuse Center. Additional discounts are given to people who meet our income guidelines, as well as any charitable nonprofit organization.
Customers can also find expert advice, technical assistance, and hands-on workshops that teach home improvement skills.
