While flooring brings distinction and warmth to a room, it is the rug that pulls everything together, keeping furniture from “floating about”. If accessories are the icing on the cake, than a good rug is the pedestal stand. Claremont Rugs, based out of Oakland, has some of the prettiest antique and vintage oriental carpets we’ve seen. It’s the craftsmanship that is boggling. As the catalogue states: "a supreme balance of myriad colors and complex designs."
Rugs also have the unfortunate distinction of being unbearably expensive. This is an investment like a piece of art, or a good piece of furniture. Imitations will never cut it with Oriental rugs, but if you can afford the real thing, what luck you have!
