A new paint shop has opened in Chicago. Colori sells the high end, high pigment C2 paint system. They offer a Color Lab, color consultations, color matching and classes. The claim: the C2 paints offer the best hiding power in the industry, as well as being the most light-fast and fade-resistant.

The C2 line of paints sold at Colori uses a 16-colorant European tinting system to give the paints more complex color and undertones. The amount of colorants also adds to the hue's strength and opacity. According to their press, a primer and then 2 coats MAX is all that is required, even for intense colors. And that's good, because C2 paints ($30.- 60./gallon) are not inexpensive. The shop is colorful (of, course), modern and inviting. The Colori perks: a spectrophotometer is used for precise color-matching to whatever sample you come up with, the paint chips are made from the actual paint, not a printing process, and larger paint chip sizes in general. The take-home chip is 2.75" x 4" and the ultimate paint chip is available in 18"x24" size so you can pin it up instead of painting a section to test a color.
