Another good resource for well-crafted and handmade items for baby.

Craftsbury Kids founder and president explains:

You won't find mass-produced flashy electronic toys, or 'cookie-cutter,' plastic fad driven items at Our mission in life is to inspire children's imaginations, and encourage them to be themselves.

We like the idea of this Wooden Rocket kit. Not only will your child enjoy building and painting the rocket, he can enjoy the fruits of his labor! We remember similar kits as a child and taking such pride in the finished toy. They were always the most taken care of and the first to be put away. The Wooden Rocket kit is $9.95.

For little girls, we adore these Doll Crafty Cards made with a swatch of vintage fabric. You can send them as cards, of course, but hanging one or several in the nursery makes for charming (and inexpensive) artwork. $4.75 each.

The Yummy Lunch Tote is our final favorite. It's foam-layered, lined with vinyl and comes with a pocket for keeping an icepack or other accessory. When cinched up, it looks like a sweet little purse. Different vintage-inspired fabrics are available and each is $24.
