Visiting the Doe SF Web site is like visiting the bedroom of your sister's best friend, circa 1984. Everything is pretty, absolutely sweet, it looks like it smells great and you never want to leave. With everything from children's good, to housewares to clothing, Doe is San Francisco's original "miniature department store." They carry Herve Chapelier handbags, Haba wooden toys, Japanese housewares by Decole, clothing by Rebecca Beeson, Velvet and more. Here are some of our favorite children's items: Plan Toys Stacking Tree, $22, is a gorgeous 8-piece stacking toy made from non-toxic and sustainable woods. Also, from Plan Toys is the Mushroom Kaleidoscope. Available in yellow, red or green, each whimsical mushroom, $4.25, is a fun kaleidoscope. Lorena Siminovich's Tree with Bird is a limited edition art piece made up of vintage, painted papers on maple plywood. The piece is 10"x10"x 3/4" and $140.00 Speesees Organic Friends are fun little creatures filled with 100% organic lentils and lavender, $24. Throw them around and catch a whiff of their great scent.
Next is Cram Cream's Mushroom Soap Dispenser, $15, a must for any mushroom enthusiast, Mario lover or fun guy (Get it? Fun guy! Fungi! Yeah...O.K., we'll stop.) Finally, there's another great item from Plan Toys, the adorable Blue Walker, $17. Even though it's a grub, it's definitely the cutest grub we've seen. Made from sustainable, non-toxic materials, the Blue Walter is a great toy for toddlers who are just getting on their feet. If you're ever in San Francisco, be sure to visit Doe in person. Otherwise, you can always shop online.
