Dusty Groove: Turntables, Needles, and Stacks of Wax

Located on Ashland Avenue in Chicago's West Town neighborhood, Dusty Groove is a well-known resource for DJs and vinylphiles, but even if you're not a local record collector, their online store is still a good one to bookmark for turntables, headphones, and needles.

They're best known for their huge world music, soul, and jazz collections, but the staff members are also knowledgeable about equipment, whether you're looking for a turntable with USB output to digitize your old albums or you're looking for advice on storing a CD or record collection. They describe themselves as a "one-stop shop for all your listening needs."

Bonus — every time I've visited the store, I've always been greeted by a friendly and helpful employee. This Chicago record shop thankfully escapes the Jack-Black-in-High-Fidelity-snotty-record-store-staff stereotype.
