San Francisco, CA
It's not often enough that we get out of our respective neighborhoods and head over to Noe Valley. Thankfully, this past weekend we checked out a few of the home stores on sleepy but busy 24th Street and were pleasantly surprised.
Echo dubs itself as a "transitional modern" furniture store and we couldn't agree more. These pieces would be great for anyone who is trying to get away from their more traditional roots but aren't quite ready to splurge on the ultra contemporary furnishings. The prices are great as well. The above futon was around $850 and had a great lead time.
Along with home furnishings, Echo also offers a wide range of customizable window treatments. Sheer roman shades are so perfect for any San Francisco Victorian.
To be honest, we're the biggest fan of FLOR carpet tiles. But it's a rarity to see all of the samples in one place. Most shops just have the catalog and a few of the best sellers for you to touch and feel. Not Echo! They have them all. They also have a wonderful line of natural carpets (seen above) and some great shags. The prices vary significantly, but you could easily get an area rug for under $1,000.
The bulk of Echo's upholstered pieces come from a sustainable furniture company out of Vancouver. Their lead time is 4-6 weeks.
We also spotted some great bamboo furniture from a California designer.
