Furnish Me Vintage is tucked out of sight on the second floor of an antique mall in St. Petersburg, Florida. What it lacks in curb presence is made up for in a well-curated selection; this place is a mid century enthusiast's dream. The large space (7,000 square feet) is filled with vintage finds, from all the big names like George Nelson, Paul McCobb, and Jens Risom.
Furnish Me Vintage isn't a bargain hunter's paradise, so don't go expecting to find a forgotten table for 20 bucks tucked back in the corner of the store. You can be sure, however, that all the items are in great, if not excellent, condition. So, if you are looking for a classic piece of furniture to ground your decor, start there. You're sure to find an investment piece to drool over.

Looks like some great stuff and the prices aren't that bad. I'd rather get something used from this shop than some of the new stuff at the national furniture chains. Ironically, much of the furniture that is most expensive is inspired by these pieces.
They have terriffic stuff, but 95% of it is sold already! Why keep 8+ pages of sold product on the site? It comes across as deceptive, when you only have 12 or so things available to buy, but it looks like there are hundreds.
What they haven't sold yet is lovely though
I always want to buy something from here, but i live in california, and the cost to ship would defeat the purpose of the decent pricing.
I've been there and their prices are high. You can find as good or better with patience in thrift or on craigslist. Good source for designers though.
Oh and when you go to the store you are not allowed to sit on anything not chairs, sofas, anything.
One of my favorite stores in St. Petersburg! Us locals are lucky. Furnish Me Vintage actually has way more stuff in store than they show online. The owners are very friendly and customer service oriented. Their store is setup very nicely -- like a retro department store. Not cluttered at all. Everything is clean, well presented and nicely priced. I'm a Mid Century Modern collector. Have you been to a thrift store or Salvation Army lately? They're prices are out of control! Furnish Me Vintage is not much higher thrift stores on non-designer items -- except the condition is FAR BETTER even refinished in many cases. I always like to check the store and web site even if I'm not buying. They is always something neat to see.
I am super disappointed in their customer service, which is a real bummer because I probably would have been a loyal fan/client. I saw an awesome sofa online, called and placed it on hold with my credit card because I was unable to drive up to their store until Sunday. No problem, they won't sell it unless I don't show up, I was told. Then on Saturday, the day before I was scheduled to come and pick it up, I received a phone call with no message. One hour later, I received another call with a message that they sold my sofa since I didn't come in. I immediately called back and the owner refused to budge, even though the sofa was still on their property. She should have honored our hold, admitted her mistake, sold the sofa to me and called the other customer. Instead they have forever lost my business not just because of this error, but because of the absolute lack of effort to make it right.
We called Ms. Pennenga before we sold the sofa to find out her intentions since she missed her assumed pick-up date. Ms. Pennenga did not answer the phone or attempt to contact us. She was concluded to be a "no call, no show." Unfortunately this is not uncommon in our business. We get customers all the time who say they can't live without a certain item, promise they want it, then disappear. After the sofa was sold, Ms. Pennenga received a phone notifying her of the sale. Again she did not answer, so we left a voice mail. She then called back immediately, angry. She says we confused the pick-up date. This was all verbal arrangement. I apologized and offered a discount on anything else she might want. Ms. Pennenga refused. She wanted me to take the sofa from the other customer and sell it to her. That scenario was not an option. Also note that Ms. Pennenga was not charged a deposit fee. There was no monetary loss. Just hurt feelings. I'm sorry if she felt wronged. We attempted to reach out when she missed her pick-up, apologized for any confusion, offered a discount to help heal the wound, and did not charge a deposit fee. I'm not sure what else we could have done to make her feel better... short of taking the sofa from the other customer.
