I'm always amazed by people who craft beautiful products from ordinary materials and the duo behind Graypant are no exception. Even better, their upcycled light fixtures are created from scrap cardboard found in and around the streets of Seattle, providing a new use for a material with an otherwise short life span.
Architects Seth Grizzle and Jon Junker started Graypants in 2008 and have since developed a range of fixtures that could work in spaces small and large. Using a laser cutter to create the interesting and often intricate shapes, I love how the designers use a high-tech process with a low-tech material to create an unexpected product that celebrates the best of both.
