Purge, splurge, purge. Who knows how people come to call themselves Professional Organizers, but one thing is for sure, being a get-it-done-now type A kind of person is sort of a prerequisite. After all, it is mainly about getting the things done that have been sitting for too long, and moving on. You can't worry about getting your hands dirty.

Andrea Hancock seems to be on the right track. Calling her company Hired Hands and emphasizing a can-do attitude with a focus on the hysteria that can surround moving from one place to another, we find her refreshing and practical. She started as a personal assistant and now works solely as an "organizer," but the purpose is the same. You get help in planning and execution, and the job gets done better and with less stress.
