Based on reader recommendations, and Liz Demos' kind invitation, we scheduled time for a visit to @home during our recent trip to Savannah GA, and boy are we glad we did! Both Liz and her staff were gracious hosts, and even Mom commented on the lovely homey feeling in the store itself. Though Liz first opened her store in 2000, @home has only been at this location since October 2007...

In Liz's own words, "For those that love weathered furnishings, @home is a great place to find stylish yet affordable items for your lifestyle. Known as a "vintage general store," the shop is filled with one-of-a-kind finds as well as vintage-inspired new items. @home is a mixture of modern country and cottage styles.

Creatively matching old and new is the forte of our unique shop. The store is stocked with hard to find goods and gifts in the following categories: antiques, textiles, fine ribbons, stationery and gift wrap, bed and bath products, jewelry, garden accessories, kitchen items, furniture, children's items, lighting, architectural, industrial and old school artifacts. "

Now that temperatures have dropped here in DC, we regret not picking up one of these fabulous hats and scarves when we had the chance!

If we had had any room to spare in the car, this chair would have come home with us. Of course, we have no space in our house for another chair, so perhaps we are lucky the car was so full...

Mom loved both the vintage sewing patterns (she's the seamstress in the family) and the vintage wedding picture Liz used to show off these napkin ring bud vases.

Thank you Liz for sharing your store and your vision with us; thank you readers for your fabulous recommendations. Watch for more Savannah posts in the coming days- we were busy photographers on our short vacation...
