South Pasadena, CA
A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Tamara Kaye-Honey moved to New York City in 1996 to attend the Fashion Institute Of Technology. After graduating she was hired as a clothing buyer for Bergdorf Goodman. In 2003 she moved to Los Angeles with her husband and one year old daughter and so began her foray into interior design.
Starting with the renovation of her own home, her love of fashion quickly translated into interiors. Another baby and numerous projects later, Tamara has quickly established herself and created her own distinct style. Her modern-eclectic interiors mix witty and dramatic touches to create unique and personal spaces with a common narrative. In a very cost-conscious and eco-friendly manner, Tamara combines high and low end pieces and materials, both new and vintage in an unexpected way to create fresh yet timeless spaces.
Tucked into the quietly cool neighborhood of South Pasadena lies House of Honey, a showroom filled with glamorous furniture, dramatic fabrics and a pulled together selection of accessories both new and vintage.House Of Honey
is a home decor shop and interior design studio that was founded by Tamara Kaye-Honey (veteran of FIT and Bergdorf's before moving to LA and making a run for it with interior design). Tamara was inspired to move into interior design during the renovation of her own home when she realized her love of fashion could be translated into spaces. Since then she has created a distinct style mixing old with new, high with low.
The shop carries an eclectic mix of re-invented furnishings & accessories that include art, lighting, jewelry, books and new wallpapers and fabrics. The style is decidedly glamorous with more than a nod to hollywood regency but with a little bit more fun mixed in: surprise accessories, interesting pattern combinations and seemingly dated chairs reinvented in completely modern fabrics. We love the unusual finds that add a bit of an edge to a, at first glance, traditional or more east coast style.
Design services are also offered, ranging from reupholstering to complete residential and commercial renovations.
