This little shop in Boston's South End neighborhood is a gem. Everything is arranged to feel like the studio apartment of your super-cool friend — you know, the girl that finds Bergere chairs at the flea market and has them reupholstered in sack cloth. In other words, the store has a small but well curated collection of vintage, refurbished, and new pieces.
Shop owner Jill Goldberg describes Hudson's aesthetic as "an easy-living type of style that combines the classic New England with the casual Californian." She stocks case goods, chairs, sofas, lighting, textiles, and accessories in the shop. Although there's only a small selection on view, Jill has a warehouse with additional items and a website where you can see the full available inventory.
In between the vintage pieces, you'll find a bunch of brand names, including Dash & Albert Rugs, Heidi Caillard Guinea Hens, Matteo Bedding, and Denyse Schmidt Quilts. Prices are on the higher end, but everything is of high quality and there are affordable finds (like the cotton weave rugs) in the mix.
In addition to the South End store, Hudson has a second shop in Wellesley, MA. For more information, check them out online.
