As we celebrate furniture this month at Apartment Threapy, let us not forget the furniture of our furry friends, which can make or break the aesthetics of our carefully groomed interiors if we don't choose the right look. One company with great style and eco-friendly elements is on our radar lately.
We're really loving the dog beds of See Scout Sleep, a small dog bed furniture company out of New Orleans, Louisiana. Stuffed and sewn in Louisiana and designed by Katie Logan and Sarah Killen, these dog beds are standing out from the rest in a few different ways. First of all, their patterns and graphics are spot on for current interior trends: lots of organic neutral colors, tribal patterns and over-sized graphics like crawfish and crabs bring fun to the pieces. We think these would be great for modern, aesthetic-minded interiors because they look good on their own but do just the right amount of blending in — no bright colors to distract from your own interior elements.
The beds are also healthy for dogs and people alike, with lots of eco-friendly elements like hemp fabric with sustainably grown fibers and natural dyes, and water-based, screen-printed artwork. The inner beds sport such comforting materials as buckwheat hulls and kapock. Plus, ten percent of the proceeds of each sale go to the Gulf Coast Fund, helping to fund and support the Gulf Coast community. With summer officially here, it might be time to give your Spot or Scout a nice new graphic and eco-friendly bed for the season! More on their Facebook page as well as their website.
What do you think about these great eco-friendly dog beds from See Scout Sleep? Will you be getting a new bed for your dogs this summer? Let us know!
