Oh how we wrestled with whether or not to share our favorite nursery! We've taken the high road and decided that it's too good not to share. Green Arrow, nestled (buried?) in the heart of the valley has pretty much anything you might be looking for, in a variety of sizes and excellent prices. Plus you get to wheel one of those red wagons around picking out what you want:
First off, the place is huge. Shade plants, house plants, big plants, trees, roses, mosses, fountains, you name it. But the best part about Green Arrow is their huge collection of smaller plants in 2" and 4" pots that are really cheap (they're to your right as you first walk in). So if you have the patience to let the plants grow into the space, then you can stock up on a lot of plants and not break your budget. We often peruse this section to get ideas and stock up on plants that might be too expensive once they get bigger.
And because they're in the Valley they have an incredible selection of drought tolerant grasses, flax, succulents and cacti. It seems far since it's all the way up the 405, but it's so worth it for the inspiration and prices.
Anyone else have a favorite nursery the want to share?
