We found some charming used children's books at our local shop this past weekend and it has whet our appetite for all things vintage in the nursery.

Something about the detailed drawings of the 1950s really captures the innocence of being a child. A quick search on the web led us to Lark Designs, a once-U.K., now Australia-based operation.

Our gifts and accessories are made by hand using recycled materials - great stuff like old children's books, vintage dress fabrics, discarded boy's comics and 70's wallpaper. We turn them into one-off mini artworks, perfect for special gifts and stocking fillers.

We really like these vintage bookplates as gifts. They can help teach young children about taking good care of their books. A set of 12 is £4.50.

And how about these vintage gift tags? You can use them to decorate goody bags for your child's next birthday party or maybe even frame them in a grouping.

If you do order from Lark Designs, do not checkout without one of these knitted Doughnut Baby Rattles. They are £4.00 each and calorie free.

Lark Designs also carries some very charming clothing, crafting smocks and aprons for little ones in prints designed by the likes of Liberty and Cath Kidston. (Kids only; sorry!)

The best news of all is shipping is very reasonable (£4.95 is the most you'll pay) and they ship anywhere in the world at no additional cost! Retailers also carry Lark Design products; you can find out more here.
