This one's more like a mini tour than a store review. Lee Weitzman Furniture is located in a cozy below-ground space in River North, with a showroom arranged to look like one of the coolest garden apartments you've ever seen. If it weren't for the pricetags and carefully angled track lighting, we'd swear we were in someone's home.
The vibe is warm and welcoming, and we were greeted with cheerful Midwestern hospitality. When we asked if we could take pictures for the site, the staff was happy to let us snap away.
The room is divided into living, dining and work areas. Many of the items are designed by Lee himself and built by hand. Furniture is high-end and expensive, but built to last.
Our favorite things included this large-scale painting of a forest, a simple Seneca Arm Chair (shown in the first photo), and a Burl shelf by Peter Czuck (also shown in the first photo). Although some of the large items were a little bulky for our taste, they looked good balanced by glass coffee tables or slim accent pieces.
