We've found a great home decor store here in Austin that has great accessories to spruce up your home and lots of fun things for you, too. If you can't afford (or don't have the time) to get away for a vacation this summer, Sanctuary Home, Bath and Garden could be just the place to find a treat for yourself instead!
Sanctuary is a study in simple and elegant items that just make you feel good. We found unique and simple tabletop accessories like ceramics from Mud Australia and great silk-screened pillows from local designer Vitrola Studio. There were several luxurious candle brands represented, like my favorite: Flare candles from San Antonio company Soular Therapy. We saw fun bathroom products, like shower curtains and bathmats from India Rose as well as lots of smell-good things for the body. Owner Hanna Curan has great tastes and a great DIY attitude, just ask her to show you some of her handiwork around the showroom for inspiration!
Sanctuary also carries and prominently displays the "sustainable botantical couture" local designs of Lauren Dolinsky, of LD Design. Called "surrealscapes", Dolinsky creates "etheral artistic interpretations of natural terrains sculpted from an innovative array of organic materials." That's right, not only do they look beautiful, they are surprisingly easy to keep.
Sanctuary is a great destination for anyone in Austin looking for a treat for themselves, but an especially great resource of design for those living in the Bee Caves/Westlake area. Sanctuary is located at 3663 Bee Caves Road in the Westlake Court Center behind Breed and Co. Sanctuary is hosting a Summer Beauty Party this evening from 6p.m. - 8p.m. with Rae Cosmetics, local Laura Elizabeth Jewelry and Polkadots Factory cupcakes.
