A NEW SPACE FOR ART Generally, galleries offer experienced collectors, institutions and museums large-format single print editions, or works with 3-5 prints, costing 4-5 figure prices. As an alternative, there are the mass-produced,indistinct, masterpiece reproductions found in museum shops. There is a gap in the market for those who have outgrown industrially produced art, and are looking for affordable and authentic works. LUMAS was established to fill that gap by creating a new space for art appealing to new collectors and all art lovers. LUMAS offers a huge variety of works from 160 established photographers, up-and-coming newcomers, and historical archives. More than 1,410 works are available as original photographs in limited editions of 75-150, signed by the artist. This printing of a limited edition of photographs enables us to offer affordable prices ranging from $100 to $800. LUMAS wants to be able to offer large format, high-grade artistic photographs with museum quality. Thanks to the close and continuous cooperation between artists, the curatorial board and first-class production partners, LUMAS has achieved a globally unique position as a dealer of editions. LUMAS acts as both a producer and a dealer. Thanks to the strategy of in-house production, the highest photographic and artistic level can be maintained and the works can be offered with the highest production quality. With the creation of LUMAS there is a new place to easily discover and experience unique photographic and digital art. The LUMAS Team put together a diverse portfolio of relevant contemporary works. The selected pieces exemplify the concepts and work of their creators and were printed in collaboration with leading photo labs.

With a newly opened shop in SoHo, Lumas is now both online and off, which is good because a bird in the hand is worth two in the online bush. We stopped in over the holidays and found the work so tempting on the walls that we almost committed an impulse buy as a gift for our brother.

We originally spotted Lumas at ICFF and stopped to look. Still mainly an online seller of photography, Lumass has beautiful, arresting, colorful images at affordable prices.

A brainstorm between Stefanie Harig & Marc Ullrich while here in NYC, their goal was to make art photographs more accessible. They do sell vintage prints by such artists as Alfred Eisenstaedt, but specialize in new and emerging artists at prices that are largely between $200-$600.

We particularly like Manfred Paul, Michael Pfisterer, Julia Christe and Stefanie Schneider. MGR
