We met Meg Cohen years ago and instantly liked her style and sensibility. She has just now opened her own shop in SoHo with an expanding selection of houswares and accessories in addition to her already well known cashmere scarves and knitwear. It's the shop that used to be Kate Spade's, and Meg says the Spades promised it to her when they left (nice folks). It's a great location - across from the Thompson Hotel.
Our favorite pieces are the round stripey side tables which come in three different sizes and heights. Pillows are also stripey and colorful, offering a nice bold pop for the dullest of living rooms, while place mats, saucers, cups and beautiful small things abound. This is a great shop to check out this month - for both gifts and self-gifts.
