The name Mjolk, meaning milk, stands for design that is pure, honest, essential. It also speaks to creating a nourishing environment through beautiful, well-crafted pieces of the highest quality. I am by nature a picky shopper, no doubt being constantly exposed to the design world has only worsened this condition. It's a rare thing when I stumble upon a shop where I can picture every last piece at home in my home. Mjolk is such a shop. With a collection of pieces from contemporary Danish and Japanese designers alongside Danish classics, the pieces are simple and clean, beautiful examples of design in it's purest form. The raw materials used, such as brass, porcelain, burl, oak and cast iron are allowed to take center stage with the simple sculptural forms of the furniture and decor.

Mjolk started via a love for mid-century modern vintage shopping but on our travels through Scandinavia, we quickly discovered that their flair for design didn’t simply cease, the craftsmanship being as strong as ever and the style innovative and dare we say, fun. Our shop still has the classics – Børge Mogensen, Hans Wegner & Alvar Aalto – but they perfectly compliment the new classics from Norway Says, Harri Koskinen & Naoto Fukasawa. And if you aren’t looking for furniture, we’ve filled the store with beautiful items for the home.
